Great paper day, still dissconnect with live and paper

Was able to stay emotionless, calm, cool, and collect.  Even though i paper chased i still had GREAT gains.  Need to learn to pull trigger as i really felt like i was in sync with the market today and yesterday!  The trades:

AAPL - Strong out the gates but didn't pull trigger

BIDU - Missed the long base and short at R

AMRS - Huge chase

TIVO - Great daily look but shaked out

SINA - How to use a stop

Great entry, terrible exit as didn't stick to gameplan

I'm getting better at letting most trades work.  I still can't tell the difference between bailing for a small gain on a trade thats not working, and allowing a winning trade enough room against me to stay in when it rips.  Gotta figure that out.

BIDU - Bought support but sold too early

Biggest red day in while, back to basics

Frustrating losses as top ticked most failures.  Need to work on better risk management as well as placing stops tighter, here's the review.

LXK - Looked strong out of the gate on huge gapdown, pleased with stop but really should have shorted

SIMO - Looked for snapback play, right idea but terrible execution and poor risk mngmt

SFLY - Looked ready to go but chased and snowballed, terrible execution of plan

Thursday, July 12, 2012

Ended day slightly green live but losses on Paper trade for a first

Great job trading today on AAPL as tried longs, the mistake i made was when nailed the entry did let my winner run BIG!

AAPL - 3 long attempts, 2 good stops but didn't stick to plan when nailed entry

LNKD - Strong in weak market, got stopped and didn't re-enter

Papered well, live trade better

NFLX - Limit long but missed fill

AAPL - Followed goat long

LVS - Miss long but saw short

NTAP - Short and stopped at REsistance

NFLX - Textbook short

Ended barely green but the Paper trades did well

Still really working on establishing the difference of why i do so well with paper and so poorly with cash.  Really refining on letting trades workout and working on not being afraid to lose.

UA - Daily alert trigger but didn't take, great momo juice

EXPE - Daily alert out of flag but didn't chase, missed great short

NTAP - Great bounce chase

AMZN - Bounce attempts but all failed

AAPL - Long failed so went short

Monday, July 9, 2012

All paper and did well, need to convert to cash

The trades:

WLP - Short the gap up

LNKD - How to take a loss when i chased

AAPL - Text book short

AAPL - Great pennant

FSLR - Bounce Chase

Again, paper did well, live trades B/E

Notice the difference of Letting winners run to target and Cutting losers quick

AMZN - Paper chase

INFA - Faded the gap realtime, just took too small position and didn't stick to plan

NTAP - Knife catch and lost

NFLX - Great long off base but OUT TOO EARLY

Getting some great trades in but still struggling to go live

Mainly papered today and caught some HUGE moves.  Need to focus on trading and not P&L but unable to make the connection.  Here are the trades:

AAPL - Long at open and wanted long again on pullback/flag to rising MA (Both high prob trades)

JAZZ - Daily alert so live long and it rolled over fast

LF - Missed long but daily screamed to chase

LVS - Perfect reversion trade that papered only

BIDU - Great long that ran
